My laser does not line up on the Red Zero Line.
The laser must be lined up after opening the box. Follow the instructions on the Quick Start Card and the video below.
My laser does not work after installing the batteries.
Check that the batteries are installed correctly with the button side inwards and the flat side outwards. Extra batteries are provided in case any are bad.
The screws are hard to turn.
The screws must fit tight to hold the laser in place. You can screw them in and out a few times to make them turn little easier. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN or you will crack the laser holder.
I cannot aim the laser with the screws.
The screws do not align the laser! they only hold it in place, please watch the laser alignment video.
The laser beam falls below the "0" when I tighten the screws.
As long as the laser beam is anywhere on the red zero line you are good. By starting the alignment with the beam up high you have room for it to move down.
Why does the test blade show 2 different reflections.
The test blade has a primary angle and a secondary angle. The larger reflection is created by the larger primary angle, shown at about 8 degrees on the scale. The smaller reflection is created by the smaller secondary angle at the edge of the blade, shown at about 14 degrees on the scale.
Why is one reflection larger that the other on the test blade.
The size of the reflections is determined by the size of the side of the edge. The size of the side of the edge of the primary angle is greater than that of the secondary angle.
Where do I read the reflection on the scale.
Read the scale where the outside edge of the reflection crosses in line with the laser beam.
My reflections show up high on one side of zero and low on the other.
The blade is not seated correctly in both notches.
